Long story short,
KRUMBLY'S KITCHEN IS FOR SALE!
Kendra
and I first started discussing the Krumbly's Kitchen concept in late
2018. The idea was to bring to the Tulsa area a simple but delicious
krumbled beef sandwich that was a staple of Kendra's childhood travels
to Wichita, KS for family visits. By the end of 2019, with the
help of another individual that was slated to be a sweat
equity partner and co-operator the mobile kitchen was complete and
ready to serve as a proof of concept for a small restaurant chain that
would be based in the Tulsa area.
Our partner/co-operator and I spent much of the first five weeks of
2020 putting the final touches on the mobile kitchen, obtaining
additional needed small equipment and wares, doing test batches of our
menu items and obtaining all the necessary permits and licenses.
We opened for the first time on February 16, 2020 and of course we all
know what happened in the world after that. In addition to facing the
challenges of a worldwide pandemic that was unknown territory for us
all, our sweat equity partner exited the operation for personal reasons
which in retrospect probably was for the best but definitely required
us to pivot in a completely different direction from our originally
intended business plan.
The main thing we have learned the last three years is that while we
still believe that this concept could work as a small restaurant chain
and might even still be interested in being a part of that in the
future, the current economy is not the time to make that move. The
other major thing we learned is that the concept actually works really
well as a mobile restaurant! Our low priced and kid-friendly menu
items have been very popular at festivals, bars and breweries,
neighborhood pools and gatherings, event centers, graduations, birthday
parties, car shows, business grand openings and more!
Despite all of the challenging and often unprecedented twists and turns
we have faced, we have persevered successfully in our
operation and Krumbly's kitchen has done very well for the amount of
time we have been able to put into it, operating at only about 15% of
its potential capacity.
And this is why "KRUMBLY'S IS FOR SALE."
We, the current founding owner/operators of the Krumbly's Kitchen
concept seek either an operating and managing principal partner or
outright buyer of the entire operation. This will not be an
insignificant purchase but it will also be a guaranteed good deal for
the right person with the sale price fully reflecting only the value of
the assets. Included in any sale will be as much training and guidance
as is needed by the founders. With our guidance, the new operators will
no doubt be able to start making money the first day of operation.
We're not trying to cut and run or get away from this business but we
have other ventures lined up and we need the day-to-day bandwidth to
get them off the ground.
Taking
over the operation of Krubmly's would be an excellent opportunity for
someone completely new to the food business but equally so for someone
who has their own concept aspirations in the food truck business.
Krumbly's lends itself very well to menu "specials" so a new chef could
try out various menu items while profitably operating Krumbly's. It's
the difference between starting at square one in a new business and
starting with several years experience under their belt. If at some
point the tested menu items were taking off, the new operator could
initiate a major menu change or even a name change
If
you are interested in this opportunity to partner with or purchase
outright Krumbly's Kitchen, the first step is to come see us some time
when we are open and in-service and introduce yourself. We are at The
Nook Brewing Company (909 S 12th St in Broken Arrow) almost every
Friday from about 4:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. If that doesn't work for you,
feel free to text 918-924-5055 or email bryan@krumblys.com to find an
alternative time and location.
In
the meantime we vow to fulfill any current and future obligations and
to keep on serving The Original Krumbly and other great eats.
Thanks!!
